This is a very brief commentary; if I had noted the number of pages in this volumn (to cover the entire Bible) I would have perceived that it cannot be inclusive or thorough enough. There are many whole sections that are referenced by a short paragraph ( and many times, nothing at all). I wanted something more complete. I will try to re-sale it, I guess.

I wanted something I could recommend to my congregation to use that wasn't too much but provided the basics. This doesn't do any of that. It just provides chapter by chapter, 2-3 sentences summarizing a chapter. And that's it.

I'd recommend saving your money for something else.

I don't know what I expected in a one-volume commentary on the whole Bible, but this didn't meet my expectations. Basically, the comments retell what is in the Bible, maybe to be better understood by those who don't have much background. If you want a quick read on the passage you are studying, try it. It may work for you.

This is a wonderful commentary, especially for a believer who is new, or one who has been to Church for a long time, but wants to seriously know or confirm that they know the truth as much as possible. A great entry level to become a more advanced believer. Zondervan makes a more extensive commentary that is about 9 volumes long, so this is a great start! Thank you Zondervan and Amazon!

I really enjoy this bible commentary. I already have an ESV study and a Life App Study bible, so I wanted just the commentary. Very good notes on a lot of scriptures in the Bible. Only reason why it didn't get 5 stars is because I find the topics or verses I wrestle with a lot, the author doesnt go into a lot of detail on. The author is very comprehensive on a lot of info, but not on all of it. Still a great recourse and read.
This works really well along with the bible it helps to explain some of the more complex scriptures
