This book is BEYOND outstanding. I struggle with forgiveness and it has made me a somewhat bitter person. I had never really realized how many of my decisions every day were based in bitterness, even as a follower of Christ. I've made some bad decisions because I chose bitterness over trusting God, and I am tired of running to Him to beg for His (never-ending) grace and mercy. Nancy made me realize that the key in the battle over unforgiveness is clinging to Christ and staying in His word, giving up the bitterness moment to moment. This book is an amazing companion to my bible. May I live this out to Gods glory.

I was battling with not being able to forgive a loved one for an awful deed they had done towards me. I knew I needed to, but didn't know how. This book used Scripture to walk me through the process. It has changed my life and I recommend this book to everyone who struggles with forgiveness. This is actually the second copy I bought. My father was here to visit and was saying that he was trying to forgive some people. I tore my house apart to find this book, but couldn't find it (I must've loaned it out to someone else). So I hopped on Amazon, bought it, it arrived in two days and I gave it to him. "Here's that book I was talking about." Also, my husband had a woman at work who's son was shot and paralyzed protecting a stranger. She had battled bitterness toward the shooter. We let her borrow this book and she said that it really helped her.
My favorite chapter is the one that speaks on clearing our own conscience toward the person we are trying to forgive. They may have been 99% at fault, and we only 1% (maybe for the way we responded), but we must clear our conscience before God and that person for our 1%. I think this is key.
If you can't forgive someone, read this book. It will change your life.

I highly recommend this book to anyone going through a very tough time right now - as I am. Although I do know much about forgiveness, this book opened up my eyes to see things more clearly. It is scripture based and I appreciate that more than anything else. This book has helped make my decision to take a step to forgiving the person who has hurt me so deeply and in a way I could not imagine. If you are struggling with unforgiveness, please do read this book.

This book is a hard-hitting (but not brash or harsh), well-thought out book on Biblical forgiveness. It was so very helpful to me. I was struggling with forgiveness, though I actually didn't realize how much so. The Lord used this book to show me how I wasn't even forgiving myself of things! I do wish the Scripture quoted was KJV, as the meaning of some verses can be altered in later-day versions, but that doesn't stop my recommendation of this book.

I plan on having my teen child read it, and I will be reading it again. The onion layers were peeled back so much through the work of God in seeking forgiveness in Christ, giving forgiveness because of Christ, and appreciating God's forgiveness to a greater level. I can't wait to see what He shows me this next read! And I'm blessed to have a resource like this to help my children not fall under the weight and burden of unforgivenes any more than possible. The God-given directives and encouragements given in "Choosing Forgiveness" are sure to help every heart that truly seeks God's will in this area.

It is awesome that we can even CHOOSE to be forgiven, that we can CHOOSE to Give forgiveness...God is amazing. "Choosing Forgiveness" is a book every believer should choose.

For three years I have felt there was something between The Lord and I. I would come to the scriptures each day and would read the same passages over and over and it just wouldn't resonate. I could feel a hardness in my heart. My time in prayer was dry and lacking.
One day, while floating in the pool with my daughter, I prayed once again telling God that I just didn't know how to find my way back to Him. I asked Him to send counsel. Before I even finished my prayer, my phone rang. It was a friend I hadn't spoken to for a few weeks. She told me that God had put me on her heart and that she felt compelled to call me. I explained what had been going on and how empty I felt. She told me that I needed to forgive someone in my life. I told her I wasn't angry with this person. She told me I had bitterness toward this person. When she said that, I kind of felt a sweet relief. Can't explain it. She told me to get this book. I downloaded it immediately and I can't tell you how healing it has been to my spirit. I didn't even realize I was struggling with forgiving. I just kept stuffing issues down deep! I have shared this testimony with others, in more detail, and they have come to realize that they have struggled to forgive and have been holding on to crud as well and it's been keeping them from closer relationship with Jesus as well. This teaching has brought many of us healing!

I used this book in a ladies study a few years ago and have given multiple copies to others as gifts or resources.
The freedom one obtains from being able to forgive with God’s enablement and move forward is a huge gift from our loving faithful God.
Highly recommend it!

This was just what I needed. Thorough. Direct. The Truth spoken in love. If anyone is struggling with hurts of the heart, injustices, or a haunting past this book is a must-read!
I choose to read this book because I knew I had forgiveness in my heart. I have two difficult relationships that seem to have no resolution in sight. But, I knew that God wanted more from me then to just ignore it. This book has opened my eyes to what forgiveness really looks like. It is not a feeling but an action. I feel like a large burden has been lifted off my shoulders as I offer forgiveness that I have been withholding. Please read this book if you are struggling with forgiveness.
