Free grace theology is a Christian soteriological view teaching that everyone receives eternal life the moment that they believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. Lord" refers to the belief that Jesus is the Son of God and therefore able to be their "Savior". The view distinguishes between (1) the "call to believe" in Christ as Savior and to receive the gift of eternal life and (2) the "call to follow" Christ and become obedient disciples.

It characterizes the Giver as "the God of all grace." Theology itself, therefore, must be absorbed with God's grace. FREELY BY HIS GRACE provides a thoroughly biblical approach to theology, demonstrating how God's grace remains consistently "free" in such relevant areas as Free Grace theology, Grace, the Gospel, Lordship Salvation, Discipleship, Faith, Repentance, Regeneration, Eternal Security, Assurance, Sin, Sanctification, Rewards, Dispensationalism, Missions, Evangelism, and Disciple making. This volume covers in a broad and informative manner, what the "free grace" movement actually is all about. It is extremely useful in understanding how the subject should be viewed, especially when compared those who are of the "arminian" or "calvinist" camps. If one understands the scriptures in a normative manner, literal-grammatical-historical, the "free grace" doctrine is there to be embraced or rejected. I learned a great deal from the works of John Calvin, I still struggle with some areas of his doctrine, however, the men who contributed to this book would have silenced Calvin had this been written in his day. Men like Dr. Bing helped free me from the chains of calvinism.

Do yourself a favor and read this book with a Bible and determine for yourself if what you believe is the truth or not. The "free grace" perspective will set you free.

I gave 5 stars for the contents of the book. Just excellent material. Long, good read, but well worth it. I almost marked it down one star because of the binding of the hardback book. As I was turning the pages, one page came out in my hand and I wasn't even applying any pressure. So the binding is of poor quality which is a shame since the contents are so outstanding. Hopefully, they will put it in a Kindle format eventually. I hate to spend that much money on a book and the pages come out in my hands, but aside from that, I still feel it was worth the purchase. As a pastor, I was a Lordship Salvation preacher...was brought up in it but eventually repented of that and now am a Lordship Sanctification teacher. If you still believe one has to repent of their sins to be saved, please read this book with an open mind and heart. If you are not sure of your salvation, please read this book. If you want to understand the attacks on the Free Grace movement, please read this book. And please understand, that Jesus totally saves, it has nothing to do with anything that could could do, it's all Jesus or nothing! God bless!

UPDATE: was contacted by one of the contributors of this book who felt bad regarding the binding of my book and is replacing it free of charge and sending a second book to give as a gift to someone. This so impressed me, they truly see this as a ministry..

Freely by His Grace is a must read for any serious Bible student. It resolves the difficulties of distinguishing important factors which exist in the Christian community at large, which are due to two opposing major theological viewpoints. The book explains in detail the differences between the two schools of thought ( Dispensation and Covenant theology) in fairly simple and understandable language. The 600 plus pages are well worth the patience and effort to read. I predict that Freely by His Grace will be a Christian Classic in the years to come.

This book contains many chapters written by a variety of authors who all come from a traditional free grace perspective. Although I have read the entire book from cover to cover, this also comes in very handy as a reference book. I highly recommend it!

This is an awesome book. It clearly differentiates Free Grace Theology from Lordship Salvation. The book presents the case for Free Grace Theology from the "classical" perspective as opposed to the newer "minimalist/refined/crossless" perspective which in my opinion is the minority view within Free Grace Theology. It is a great book for anyone who wishes to get a better understanding of God's free gift of salvation. Since this is such a vast topic, the book also deals with other issues related to salvation such as security of the believer, assurance of salvation, discipleship, repentance, regeneration, sanctification, etc. I highly recommend this book.

What a refreshing take on the cross. A great compilation of subjects covered by some excellent Free Grace theologians. This book is much needed in light of the legalistic Lordship Salvation movement that appears to be dominating Christendom. FBHG addresses many of the most important issues of this debate and helps to shed light (His light) on the true Gospel for today.
Whether it's undertanding what 'repent' actually means, or the distinctions between saving faith and becoming a disciple, this book helps expose much of the error that has infested Christian thinking. It is time to reclaim the true gospel of grace and this book will challenge the 'relgion' of our time just as Christ challenged the religion of the Pharisees. Absolute must read.
must read for serious Christians!!!
