Nadine Bernard Westcott is the illustrator of many popular books for children, including Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash and Mrs. McNosh and the Great Big Squash, as well as the author and illustator of The Lady With The Alligator Purse. She used to spend many hours chasing after her dog, who would come home only when ready and not a minute sooner.

There's just one small problem. Westcott adds an audience of comically bemused creatures, the music, and a nifty conclusion. ISBN13:9780590980531.

Like Westcott's Skip to My Lou (1989), a delightfully funny visual expansion of an appealing song. Here, a busy farmer's wife gives her husband a ludicrous series of instructions for mending a needed bucket, eventually coming around to one that requires the use of the offending bucket itself. Like Westcott's Skip to My Lou (1989), a delightfully funny visual expansion of an appealing song.

There's a Hole in My Bucket" (or . .in the Bucket") is a children's song, based on a dialogue between two characters, called Henry and Liza, about a leaky bucket. The song describes a deadlock situation: Henry has a leaky bucket, and Liza tells him to repair it. To fix the leaky bucket, he needs straw. To cut the straw, he needs an axe. To sharpen the axe, he needs to wet the sharpening stone. To wet the stone, he needs water. But to fetch water, he needs the bucket, which has a hole in it.

Purchase of this book was more accurate in the description than the other edition (from a different seller). The spine of this book was intact, a few pages needed only a quick repair. Far more pleased with this seller. One item to mention is the cleanliness of the book’s original cover/jacket...a quick wipe with a Clorox 2 wipe and it was diffentately cleaner. It would be nice if any/all sellers would take the few moments to clean the book cover/jacket (unless it would cause damage). The wipe that I used was soiled enough to indicate how necessary this was.
