I really enjoyed the story. There is a minor bit of mystery about a young lady's great grandmother and what happens at a cemetery one Halloween.

The characters are warm and loving. It's great to read about a warm and caring family who support their youngest as she discovers who she is. So much bad could happen, but because of their love and understanding, things go well for Rebecca, the main character.

I love stories where good things happen to good people, and this is a good example of that.

SL Harris has written a very enjoyable debut novel. Set in rural Missouri, a few hours from St. Louis, Harris gives readers a taste of life on a farm, and in a small town. Rebecca Wilcox is the youngest daughter in a close knit family. She's attending a local community college while she decides on her future goals. An old cemetery is near the farm, and on Halloween night she sees car headlights headed out to the cemetary. Thinking there might have been vandalism, the next morning she checks and finds that one of the gravestones has been disturbed.

Olivia Harmon is also curious about the grave as it seems important to secrets her family is keeping. When the two women meet at a local geological meeting, they decide to join forces and work together on answering questions surrounding the grave.

Edited by Katherine V. Forrest, Laughter in the wind is a warm, funny story. Rebecca and Olivia are fully developed, likeable women. Their friendship develops naturally, as does their love. The mystery surrounding the grave adds an interesting back story as the two women find answers to their questions. This was definitely a book that held my interest until the very last page!
