Marquis Who’s Who, a well-known publisher of biographies of people of notable achievements, has selected his biography for publication.

Content-based image retrieval is opposed to traditional concept-based approaches (see Concept-based image indexing).

We propose an abstract multimedia query calculus that is built upon a set of generalized n-ary spatio-temporal relations and the object-oriented modeling paradigm for multimedia data. The proposed calculus allows the declaration of multimedia data, specification of spatio-temporal logic, formulation of spatio-temporal queries for content-based retrieval of image/video data, and. l of multimedia documents.

Sagarmay Deb. Images are being generated at an ever-increasing rate by various sources. They include military purposes, aviation satellites, biomedical purposes, scientific experiments and home entertainment. Emergence is a phenomenon where we study the implicit or hidden meaning of an image.

Multimedia systems and content-based image retrieval are very important areas of research in computer technology. Numerous research works are being done in these fields at present. These two areas are changing our life-styles because they together cover creation, maintenance, accessing and retrieval of video, audio, image, textual and graphic data. But still several important issues in these areas remain unresolved and further research works are needed to be done for better techniques and applications. Multimedia Systems and Content-Based Image Retrieval addresses these unresolved issues and highlights current research.
