It is a coffee table book, nice photographs and 101 health food info, pretty basic but it did include information about the country and its customs. It would be a nice gift for a young cook interested in the cuisines of other countries. Do not hope, however, to find a recipe for fish and figs, that would go beyond the scope of the book. I had to invent my own.
Samulkis Samulkis
This is my favorite, absolutely favorite cookbook. It has wonderful recipes for brilliant fresh ingredients that spur my imagination. Some of the ingredients are a bit hard to find here in the Pacific Northwest, but many are available anywhere. And even with substitutions, the recipes are glowing.

My favorite recipe in the book is Flan of Apples with Sweet Almonds and Saffron. I've served it for brunch and tea and dessert after dinner. It's brilliant!
