Our only son headed out to college this month and he had numerous opportunities at various colleges. He even enrolled in another one and changed his mind before going to this great college. We have bought several College Prowler books in the past, and he has visited their campuses, and the information has been a great boon to helping overcome the "little knowns" or things you would want to consider before making a decision. Use it as a guidebook, a walk-up call, or just fun reading - the students' accounts are both serious and funny! Great purchase!

the comment below, is a reflection on College Prowler (the publisher) not the author:

I called College Prowler to point out that the "grade" they assigned OWU in the edition I bought on Amazon (D+) was ENTIRELY different from the grade (B+) shown in another copy of CP sold in the college bookstore. Both had the EXACT same publication date (2006).

Are these hand printed in someone's basement? How could a professional publisher screw this up?

They could not explain the disparity (seriously! they had NO IDEA), but did say that their "methodology" changed. When? How? Why? This was not addressed ANYWHERE in the book.

In summary I think CP is run by a group of people having a lot of fun, but who have absolutely no clue about journalist standards, so people can actually make an informed decision using these books.

This "genre" of writing, is what I call "internet journalism", i.e. if it sounds right, it must be right, so why do any fact checking.
