Great lists for pretty much everything from pre-K to high school. Great for homeschool moms to have as a valuable resource from speech development to phonic sounds that should be learned first and sight words to reading lists at all levels. It's a thick book and worth owning.

This text is invaluable. As a Title 1 teacher, I use it frequently to target those specific deficit skills. No longer must I depend upon memory or a workbook to provide key words for targeted practice. As a classroom teacher, this text provides fabulous lists of words based upon skill-specific information. It aides the targeting of deficit areas, and is intuitive in its use. This text is a must have. I would spend much more time "inventing"(read here- trying to remember words that have the ____ sound) instead of simply listing words for target areas for intensive intervention. It is also a terrific gift for beginning teachers! Worth every penny.

This book is one of my all time favorites for the elementary classroom. Another teacher could not resist my original, so I gave it up while I taught high school. Meanwhile, I moved back to elementary in another district and lost contact with my first copy - so I had to purchase it again. I also have an e-book version.

This is my second copy of this book. I have worked with dyslexic children and trained teachers
to work with dyslexic children since the late 70's. Now my daughter is teaching dyslexic students
and I purchased this wonderful book for her to use as a reference for her important work.

Everything you need, to see the full scope and sequence of teaching reading! It's a must have for elementary teachers. I loaned my earlier version and didn't get it back. So I purchased this new edition to replace it! Invaluable book!

This large, soft-back book is one of the most valuable items any teacher of Reading or ESL can have! It contains opposites, irregular verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, sounds of letter combinations, idioms, sentence builders, and anything else you might need. I had used it for many years teaching primary children and non-English-speaking adults. When I retired I passed my book on to a teacher friend. Later I volunteered to tutor ESL students and found that I needed my book again. Thanks to Amazon, I'm back in the classroom with my trusty "Reading Teacher's Book of Lists" by Edward Fry!

If you are not a linguistic teacher it will be hard to understand some parts of the book. I use only the sections that I can understand.
Best book to find anything you need to know about anything you want to know.
