Its not only filled with how to do Sass's 30 day plan, but also contains tons of tips on nutrition in general. I also really loved how the book didn't just say "eat this" or "don't eat that" but it actually explained pretty in depth on why you shouldn't eat certain things, or why certain things are not included in the diet.

How many diet books have we read and thought this is the one? Well, after reading SASS Yourself Thin by Cynthia Sass, you will know you have found The Book.
Does she really tell us anything new? No.
So, what makes this book/plan so great? It is the way she presents the information. At every meal we need a produce, a whole grain, a protein, a plant-based fat, and SASS (seasonings). How simple is that?

There is one drawback. The format of the book was distracting to me. The side stories interrupted the flow of the main content. However, that did not stop me from finishing the book and staying on track.

Dang, this diet works, but I will tell you, you will be hungry.
We use the diet during the week and eat what we want on weekends and I am about 20lbs lighter than I was 4 weeks ago. Seriously.
But - as I said, you will be hungry and ready for that later evening parfait.

This is the best weight reduction book I have ever read. Cynthia explains everything so well that it just makes you
understand what is going on in your body. It is simple, sensible, factual, and it works. I lost 70 pounds total and feel wonderful. I read the book over and over because I pick up something new that is important each time. This book is
so full of important information on how the body metabolizes food! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants or needs to lose weight. For me, once I understood what is going on as well as why, it changed my entire outlook on
what I put into my body. Since I've reached goal, I have tried adding certain items and can instantly see the effect
it has on my body, i.e. sugar! I don't even want it near me:) The 5 day start up cleanse just eliminates cravings.
Nothing has ever worked for me like this plan does.

I have tried a multitude of diets to lose my last "ten" pounds and began to feel that I was just at "my ideal weight", which wasn't my personal ideal. I also thought that I had reached an age where my metabolism was slowing down despite my regular exercise routine and "my diet". I don't like to throw down a lot of artificial things in my body and Cynthia Sass has put together a WONDERFUL, HEALTHFUL, AND TASTY diet plan made with lots of whole foods. I absolutely love it!!! I'm never too hungry, I always look forward to my next meal, and I lost 13 pounds and reached my ultimate goal!!!!!! I can now also enjoy the occasional pig out, because I know that when I get back to the CINCH diet I will lose the weight right back again. I look forward to eating this way, always!!!

BUY THIS BOOK! YOU CAN LOSE WEIGHT!!!!!!
Not-the-Same Not-the-Same
I thought this book covered so many aspects of what the different types of food do to our bodies. This made for even more interesting reading. The variations on the meal plans are really encouraging. You really have no excuse to not stick to the plan and the food really tastes not only good but is satisfying too!! The pounds really do start to come off. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to change their eating choices for more healthy ones for the long term and also loose weight. I
didn't give 5 stars b/c I think I could have continued my gym routine while I was on the Five day Fast Foreward even though it was not recommended to do so.

I come from a family of nutritionists. Not only that, but I work in the field - this book supports all of its food choices based on scientifically proven data. The meals are well balanced and super healthy. Not only that, but you get carbs! This is no atkins diet; you can proudly tell your nutritionist friends that you are doing it without them looking down on another "fad."

I did the fast forward. While I mostly stuck to the plan, I did use an assortment of berries (blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries) to save money but also because they are tasty and healthy. I found that it did not affect the diet. I lost 6 lbs over the 5 days and the last two days I was substituting one meal with a small apple, slice of toast and almond butter. When I started the core diet, I put on two lbs but that's completely normal because it's water weight (the first few days the weight you lose is water and waste, you WILL put some back on and that's okay). I found the recipes to be very flavorful and delicious.

My major complaint - some of the meals are time consuming to prepare. I find myself having the same meal for lunch and dinner so I only have to prep food once (Breakfasts and snacks are generally easy and quick so it's not an issue). Also, I may be the only one, but I find that it's TOO much food. I just had the Garlicky Chicken Vegetable Barley soup today and I could not finish it and I really did try. I am not a light eater either... but the meal sizes seem to be a bit much. I almost wish she designed the diet to have five smaller meals rather than 4 meals that at times, are really too much food... in fact, it's time for my last meal and I am STILL completely stuffed from my last meal. Not all meals are too much... but there have been a few that I couldn't finish everything.

Anyway, today is day 10 and I am back down to -6 lbs (so 2 lbs in the last five days after the initial water/waste weight loss). That's pretty amazing. While some people may think it's too slow, it's healthier to lose weight slowly and you will not crash and burn on this diet. It's easy and even my husband likes some of the foods (although he loathes onions... which is a huge ingredient in many recipes).

For those who say the diet is too restrictive... all diets are restrictive. The reason why a person needs to diet is because they probably had a lack of restriction in the first place - *this girl included* ... while I have only done a couple of diets, I find this one to be, by far, the healthiest and most well rounded. While Sass recommends exercise I have only been toning... no cardio yet... but it's still working. It's not rocket science, exercise + dieting is how you lose weight. This is great for people who want an easy handbook on how to do so.
