I really enjoyed this book.I we t by this diet for about 4 months and lost 43pounds. I had to get used to eating just chicken and fish but once I did , I had no problem. I began feeling better ,my stomach felt better and my arthritis was less painful also.I measured my waist once a week and lot 6 and one half inches. I was so happy. I would recommend his diet to anyone of any age, I am 66 and it worked for me.

I bought this book for three reasons: (1) vanity and (2) time and (3) money.

(1) I am not obese but, now in my late 40s, I find that I am less and less comfortable in the 32-inch-waist pants I have been proudly wearing since my mid 20s. I have developed a little gut and, frankly, I cannot easily accept it. I am vain. I want to look good.
(2) I had seen those little ads online about how the "lose belly fat with this one weird old trick" and had clicked on it once, only to discover that it was a seemingly unending video presentation that never got around to the point. Adios, weird old trick.
(3) I came across The Belly Fat Diet by accident while shopping for a book on Amazon by an author with a similar name. It got my attention. I thought about my growing gut. I asked myself "What have I got to lose for a $3.82 download?"

I thought these were three important reasons but after just the few fast-reading chapters, I discovered that there are other, far more important, health-related reasons to lose the belly fat. Even more so, this book demystified for me WHY the fat was there in the first place. See, I don't eat junk food. I don't drink beer. I ride my bike to work daily, etc. So, it didn't make sense that I was getting fat. This book explained why it's unhealthy and how to get rid of it. I am excited to get started on the actual diet (which is not the strenuous exercise and calorie deprivation regimen you're expecting) which I think will add a few years to my life as well as remove inches from my middle.

I really recommend this book to any of you middle-agers out there who fighting the "belt-line hangover."

The Belly Fat Diet by John Chatham

The book deals with dieting like thousands of other books; however, this book is targeted towards belly fat. It is very concise and takes you through an introduction explaining what belly fat actually is, the dangers, and provides an individual with the tools for losing this belly fat.

It is well put together and in each chapter it lists well thought out explanations of the finer points of dieting. What really stands out is that the author explains things very thoroughly without a lot of fluff and medical terms that no one will understand.

An exercise schedule is included and what vitamins should be taken to achieve the desired loss of unsightly belly fat and weight.

There is a shopping list included so when going to the supermarket you have a concise guide of what to buy to make this diet work. The Belly Fat Diet will work for normal weight loss but attacks belly fat specifically.

My rating: 4 out of a possible 5

This was a great book for me to read and implement. I've been dieting for a while, and have hit a period when i can no longer easily drop kilos. I'm down 10kg, but need to lose another 20kg, so I've still got a fair way to go, and needed a new approach. So this book offers a fantastic guide to losing the last 20kgs, with recipes, this is amazing!!!

It explains the fat placement around our waist, and then shows how we can get this last fat deposits from our waist once and for all! I love the meal planners, the exercise suggestions, the idea of eat less more often, this is a perfect scenario for me to embrace to finally finish my weight loss journey, which I've been collecting for over 20yrs!!

I recommend this book if you want a healthy weight loss plan, with good long term results, not quick tacky diets, that never work in the long run.

Wish me luck!!

The Belly Fat Diet is an interesting and well-rounded book, perfect for those who are serious about losing belly fat and being healthy. The author, John Chatham, does a good job explaining fat and how to best tackle that issue in a safe and sensible manner. While it is a seemingly easy diet, as there is no weighing or portioning of food, it is emphasized that undertaking this diet requires a lifestyle change in order for it to be successful. Yet, Chatham makes it easier by providing a cookbook, shopping guide, and even basic exercise routines to encourage those who want to do it. Readers will appreciate the flexibility of the exercise routines, which can be easily done at home and without gym equipment. What is also nice about this book is that Chatham is in tune with reality. He understands that any diet is a challenge and includes allowances, such as one dessert a week, to keep the individual motivated.

Overall, the book is clear in all its concepts and fast to read. It is a good place to start for those who want to make healthy changes in their life.

If you thought the only way to effectively lose your excess belly fat was to starve yourself or spend hours in the gym then you will love the advice offered in The Belly Fat Diet. John Chatham has put together a comprehensive and accessible guide to losing weight via a healthier overall lifestyle. He goes in depth on the various health risks being obese poses; enough to scare anyone into trying to lose a few extra pounds!

Chatham empowers the reader to change their behavior based on the science behind losing weight. As you read, a plan to improve your eating through working out, learning the truth about various foods and changing your eating habits emerges.

I loved the cardio breakdown section! One tip that was great was to keep a blender at work and make a healthy shake instead of running to the vending machine. I tried the Sunrise Smoothie recipe and it was delicious!

If you're ready to take control of your fat intake and follow the guidelines set forth in the book then there is no way that you will not lose weight. It's all common sense, it's not hard, and it works!
