We begin to heal when we go beyond personal anger and fear to a realization of our true self, the self that was never afraid and can never be wounded. The true self contains the light that no darkness can attack.

On that day Deepak Chopra found himself driving from city to city, meeting thousands of people who begged for meaning and solace in the face of suffering. In response he has written The Deeper Wound, offering a way of healing as a memorial to the thousands of victims who perished. Compassionate and clea. courageous undertaking. We all want to know how to find a soul mate, what career would be most fulfilling, how to live a life with meaning, and how to teach our children well.

Recovering the Soul from Fear and Suffering. In The Path to Love, Deepak Chopra tells us how we can fulfill our heart's desire and find the love we want. By: Deepak Chopra MD. Narrated by: Deepak Chopra MD. Length: 3 hrs and 51 mins. Dr. Chopra shows us that by bringing spirituality back into love, we can discover a world of depth and meaning that infuses every day with romance and passion.

Following the events in New York in early September 2001, Deepak Chopra addresses the feelings that have come out of them for all of us: fear, the meaning of death and how to find you "higher self" under catastrophic circumstances. The sort of questions he asks are: is there a deep wound at the heart of humanity? Will revenge salve this wound or aggravate it? He also comments "if you and I are having a single thought of violence or hatred against anyone in the world at this moment, we are contributing to the wounding of the world." Although this book has grown out of a tragedy that has affected us all, it is also of general application in situations where one might be feeling extremely vulnerable, frighteningly angry, deeply sad and trying to make sense of a terrible situation.

This is a book I have returning to again and again.
For me it has the tools of transforming my emotional and thinking turmoil of pain and sorrow into opening up to the souls gentle light and wisdom.
It is the part of the book , containing 100 days of healing ,that is touching me this profound way.
I have been walking cross Hardangervidda- the largest mountain area in Norway- with tent alone, and had been writing down my favorite passages in a small ligthwight book to save weight, and in evenings alone in the tent I was meditating on them.
I only wish, dear Deepak Chopra that they could be transferred into good quality cards. I would rush to buy them.
Thank you so much, Deepak Chopra for your spiritual contribution to the world! with love from norway ~ eldy

I am shocked that a previous reviewer would "dis" this book while at the same time admitting she had not read it . . . However, her negative review DID prompt me to "give the book a chance." I read it -- and I am very glad I did. When it comes to Dr. Chopra, I've been a skeptic. But this time, he is offering a much-needed resource for healing in one of our country's most difficult times. It's long been said that what we refused to deal with just goes underground and bides its time. Dr. Chopra offers us the methods and processes we need post 9/11 to begin the process of deep healing as a human community. It's never to late to begin. Read this book today --I wager you'll be glad you did.

I was a young teenager at the time of the WTC attacks, and as such, I wasn't in a mature frame of mind to truly understand the gravity of what happened that day. This book allowed me to relive that day and empathize with all those who went through it. That empathy allowed me access to my own hurts and pains in a way I had never known before. Perfect book for those looking to reconnect with yourself.
