I love my Impact books and have a huge collection. This is not the full-sized book, but rather an abridged version & kit of the book by the same name and cover art. Just as the reviewer who posted with 4-stars said.

I want to add to that with the following details:
The "instructions" are limited to here is some polygons, here is a colored-in-ready-to-frame-epic-picture-digitally-enhanced. What I am saying is that it is the usual disappointment that most poor art instruction books have. Merely a start and finish, nothing in between. The full edition (also available on Amazon) has the directions expanded on.
The supplies are very low grade. The pencils don't even have a hardness listed. My black marker died after about 1-2 minutes of starting to draw-in a face. The other markers look like what come in a velvet poster coloring kit, though I didn't even bother with them. The dragon stamped eraser cleans well though, and I still have it.

In summary, get the full-sized version and enjoy it.

Although the booklet came smaller than I originally anticipated it was very handy in bringing me inspiration for my day to day needs. Especially on days when I run out of ideas I like to pick up these type of books and flip through them quickly and this one is definitely one of my favorites

I saw this kit in a bookstore and I thought it would be a good addition to my art library. But on a quick glance, I realized that the booklet in this kit was a compact version of DragonArt Fantasy Characters: How to Draw Fantastic Beings and Incredible Creatures. For a low price and including pencils, markers, paper and even a dragon stamped eraser, it would be something I would consider to give as a memento.

The booklet is limited to 32 pages, including instructions to draw only six characters: Fairy, Orc, Goblin, Dwarf, Centaur, and Sprite. These were probably considered as the most age appropriate characters. The pages seem to have been compressed from original book, but made of a flimsier material, which makes me wonder how long would they last at the hand of an enthusiastic kid.

I give it only 4 stars on average: 5 for J. Peffer's great art and instructions, but maybe 3 or 4 for the lower quality booklet.
