Cara Landry had only lived in Carlton for six months. At parents’ night every September, Mr. Larson explained that children learn best when they learn things on their own. This was not a new idea. From the day she moved to town, during April of fourth grade, everyone had completely ignored her. She had been easy for the other kids to ignore. This idea about learning was being used successfully by practically every teacher in America. But Mr. Larson used it in his own special way.

"Goodnight NOLA" is a lovable tribute to things unique to New Orleans. People of all ages will enjoy this rhythmic salute to red beans and rice, po'boys, celebrated chefs, music, historic landmarks, the sporting scene and many other features of the Crescent City. An excellent introduction for young children and a wonderful souvenir.

We love this book. I first read it to my niece who got it for a birthday gift. I just ordered it for my best friend to read to her new born baby on the way. I love to teach my children about the city i love and grew up in especially that we don't live there any longer.

This is a delightful book that children and adults will both enjoy. As an enthusiast of all things New Orleanian it was nice to take an armchair vacation to the Big Easy while reading it to my grandson. The artwork is pretty, with bold colors yet somehow soothing and appropriate for bedtime. The text has the cadence of the original Good Night Moon. We have both and my grandson loves them. I learned a few more things I didn't know about NOLA such as Lucky hot dogs and Hubig's pies. The cheerful "Man in the Moon" appears throughout as a cheerful present with a fleur de lys dangling from his nightcap! Delightful rhymes and eye candy illustrations! CJ Newton

Perfect little book about our home town. My Grandsons loved it!
Great book! I bought three copies for each set of grandchildren who live elsewhere. Now I want my own copy! Talks about all the special things that are important to the people of the "Big Easy". I often take Bunny Bread and pots of red beans when I visit my family out of town. What a special book to celebrate our wonderful city! Thanks to the author and illustrator.
