Another great Elephant and Piggie book. Gerald and Piggie are always picture book wins. Simple words, clear pictures, and a wry sense of humor - always a good combination

Another great Elephant and Piggie book. This one tackles the simple concept of having fun even if you aren't really good at something. Cute illustrations, great simple dialogue that still teaches a nice lesson. Simple words, clear pictures, and a wry sense of humor - always a good combination. This one is great for storytimes on (obviously) elephants or pigs, plus sports, balls/ball games, and trying a new activity (even if we aren't good at it). I also used it in a storytime focusing on puppets, purely for a chance to pull out my Gerald and Piggie puppets.

AS usual, this book of the Elephant and Piggy series did not let us down! My daughter is 7 now and almost has all of the books. Although she is older, this book is good for learning to read with emphasis. We also talk turns reading back and forth in our "elephant" and "piggy" voices. She absolutely LOVES LOVES LOVES these books. And so do I!!! I think neither of us will grow out of them. And if and when she does....I will definitely be keeping them to pass down in the family.

Okay, we are HUGE Elephant & Piggie fans. (And when I say we, I mean ALL OF US.) But this one holds a very special place in my husbands' heart. I had to have it! I don't who is more fun to watch, the kids or him!

Funny story.....so perfect for kids. If you ever watched three and four year olds play T-ball, you'll love to share this with them.

I chose this rating because my first grade students loved the book. I bought this and other Elephant and Piggie books because whenever we go to the school library they are always checked out. So I bought some for my classroom library. My students check out books from my library and take them home to read. I allow three books. The school library allows one because of the number of students in our school (almost 1,000) but students cannot take them home. I believe that if you want children to read you have to have interesting and fun books to read and to listen to. As a child growing up I didn't have books to read. They were a luxury my family could not afford. But my teachers always had books to read to us and a few books that we could read in class. For most of the children I teach a book is a luxury. It is a luxury I want to share with them and their families.

My granddaughter owns the collection com'pleta and loved reading all of them
Another excellent book by Mo Willems! My daughter, for whom the book was bought, loves it. And (nearly as important) I laugh every time we read it...if you have a kindergartner, you know how important this is, since you will be reading the same books over, and over, and over...
