This is a charming little book. I used it with my grandchildren to grow sun flowers. The book is an excellent way to show young children how the plant grows especially when they can't see what is happening. The fold out format is very cute but I think the paper used to make the book won't be very durable so I think the book will have a short life. But, it's fun and informative and young children loved it.

Good fold out story for summer! The kiddoes are amazed as the flower slowly bloom, page by page and becomes a sunflower! Barry has created a really great book!

I don't think my kids are any harder on books than the typical kid out there and they tore several of the fold out tabs of this book. I think it has to do with how they overlap each other and have to be opening in a specific order. If you try to open the wrong flap too early -rrrrrip! Writing and illustrations are not terrific for a book that your kids are likely going to destroy in the first week they have it.

This is a darling little book! Yes, it is an unusual book because the pages do not open like a normal book. So, please read it with the child the first time and let them gently discover how it opens up, they will be delighted. And yes, they will destroy it when you just hand it to them and they are eager to read it but have no clue how it unfolds.
