I have used this book for years both to inspire creativity with clay and to enjoy the rhymes. It gently touches on the violence of the story without being dishonest about God's sadness and anger and then moves on to absolutely captivating and joyful pictures. (Enjoy singing "Who Built the Ark" right before or after reading it. The music is on the last page)

I have used this multiple times in children's summer art or Sunday School classes to create group works in which the older children made their own more complicated clay animals and even the youngest child could contribute a snake or a butterfly or help build the rainbow! We have built them on a cookie sheet so they could be easily baked and then glued onto a piece of thin plywood that can be mounted in a frame. There are now several clay collages hanging in churches that kids proudly walk past as a reminder of their collaborative creativity. They look great!

This book has such great rhymes. The first time I heard it was a middle school class, ironically. But I thought it was so clever I has to get it for my nephew who loves words.

This book was WONDERFUL!! My 8 year old and I read it together. We LOVED the rhymes!! I am a Noah's Ark collector and my daughter checked it out of the library for that reason. She thoroughly enjoyed it-- especially the illustrations!! (Please let me know if there's any way I could purchase any of the pictures from the book to add to my collection!! They are great!!)
Thanks!!

This book is great for people of all ages. The attention to detail and the great craftsmanship in the artwork is awesome. Being a clay artist myself, I can really see that Barbara has some real talent. If you like her style, she has done many other children's books. Especially fun is the "Zoe" series. They are hard to find but a treasure to have and share with your children.

Bought for a student who borrowed this book every week from school library. A well-loved, beautifully illustrated book.
