The Outer Space Mystery (Boxcar Children Mysteries, Book 59) by Gertrude Chandler Warner Paperback .

Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in 1890 in Putnam, Connecticut, where she taught school and wrote The Boxcar Children because she had often imagined how delightful it would be to live in a caboose or freight car. Encouraged by the book's success, she went on to write eighteen more stories about the Alden children.

This is the original story that the later series of much-loved Boxcar Children books was based on. Henry, Jessie, Violet and Benny Alden are brothers and sisters who become orphans. Rather than be sent to their grandfather, whom they were raised to believe is an awful man, they decide to run away. One night, during a storm, the children take refuge in an old abandoned boxcar, and decide to make it their home. Meanwhile, their grandfather tries to track them down.

Gertrude chandler warner. Illustrated by Charles Tang. ALBERT WHITMAN & Company, Chicago. Benny had put a board across the stump that the Aldens used as a step up into the old boxcar in their backyard. He was standing on top of the board. Watch, who was a small black-and-white dog, was standing at one end of the board.

The Boxcar Children Mysteries. The soccer fest would last one day-an opening parade followed by a series of games, ending with an award ceremony-but the children had been practicing for the games almost each day for the past two weeks. Now, finally, the big day was here. The yellow house mystery. The woodshed mystery. The light house mystery. Mountain top mystery. School house mystery. We’re going to go warm up now, Grandfather!
