This is the original story that the later series of much-loved Boxcar Children books was based on. Henry, Jessie, Violet and Benny Alden are brothers and sisters who become orphans. One night, during a storm, the children take refuge in an old abandoned boxcar, and decide to make it their home. Meanwhile, their grandfather tries to track them down.
