We're convinced that the reason my 3-year-old grandson has such a wide vocabulary is because he fell in love with Richard Scarry books when he was two. He goes to sleep for naps and bedtime reading "What Do People Do All Day?" The books are all engaging and are not just repeat stories of other authors. This book introduced him to the fun of mysteries.

If you are expecting the witty, charming writing of Richard Scarry books like "The Best Mistake Ever" in this book, you will be dissappointed. The story is weak, the mystery not very mysterious, and the humor completely lacking. If you value Richard Scarry's style, make sure to get books written by him, not just a book that has his name on it somewhere. This was written by his son Huck Scarry and the writing just does not compare to an actual Richard Scarry book.

A great addition to the Scarry collection
