The book is fantastic. The stories are short enough even my 4 year old has no problem sitting through them. The pictures are excellent. I love that these aren't just the Bible hightlights, but the whole thing. We read it during dinner for family devotions, but it could easily be done at bedtime or as a standalone devotion for older kids who are reading on their own.

Our family has been reading this bible together for several years, mainly before bed. It only take 5-10 minutes to go through 2-3 days, which allows us to go through the bible in 4-5 months instead of a year. We've been through it several times and the kids pick up a little bit more every time.
Our first copy wore out and started to fall apart so now we're on our second copy.

We have really liked this Children's Bible as a stepping stone for family worship time. Our four year-old is moving beyond the Preschool devotions we had been doing, but not reading independently yet. This Bible has a short Bible story, in young child/young reader-friendly language, for each day of the year. It progresses similarly to the adult One Year Bibles through the books of the Bible, condensing/selecting the text into short segments to hold a child's attention. It also includes nice illustrations that do not dominate the pages, as well as a Scripture verse from the segment for each day. We like how closely the language of the stories mirrors that of the language in various Scripture translations. Lastly, it has a "Life in Bible Times" section at the end of the book, covering what various aspects of life (food, farming, plants & animals, families, clothing, etc.) were like in Bible times - a very useful resource. We purchased this book along with the One Year Bible for Children, not knowing which would be better suited to our family's current need. We definitely like this one for our children's current attention span and level of understanding, and think that the other will be great to follow this one in a couple of years. It seems that this one could also be good to go through again when our children are reading for themselves, since it is written for young readers.

Great beginner Bible for our son, the illustrations really draw him in and the daily passages allow us to tell the story of the Bible in a predictable manner.

My grandson says this is his all-time favorite book! Reasonable price and fast shipping/delivery. Highly recommend this book for any child that may have been bogged down by having to read too much at a time and not getting the meaning, and/or losing interest.

My 4 year old is enjoying reading through this book. Nice short devotional to start the morning.

I rarely write reviews, but I am truly disappointed with this book and had to warn other potential buyers. The stories are not easy to follow and focus on details that are not appropriate for young children (such as the account of Sarah sending Abraham to have a child with Hagar). There's a kid-friendly way to approach these bible stories, but this wasn't it!
We bought this Bible for our 6-year old to keep up with our family as we read a full version of the chronological Bible in a year. This version wasn't synchronized with the full scripture version, but in all other respects it is excellent. In fact, my 6-year old daughter was able to read much of this version herself. This is now the second year in a row that we are reading it together, and she is really enjoying it.

We have found this chronological rendering of the Bible to be especially helpful in understanding the entire Bible story.
