Description

Janet Stevens has written and illustrated popular books for over 30 years. This is the classic story of the tortoise and hare. Graphics are great! Would recommend to anyone who remembers this story from their younger years.

Janet Stevens has written and illustrated popular books for over 30 years. Some of her titles include Coyote Steals the Blanket: A Ute Tale and Tops & Bottoms. Her books include New York Times Bestsellers, Time Magazine Best Books of the Year, ALA Notable books, and a Caldecott Honor. She is most proud of her numerous state book awards that were voted on by young readers. She has two children and lives in Boulder, Colorado.

The Tortoise and the Hare is the third Living Books PC-ROM Game. Being based on the famous fable by Aesop, it was retold by Mark Schlitchting as an original story for the Living Books series (hence the first Living Books game to not be based on any existing books), and the CD-ROM along with its included paperback storybook were both released in 1993.

The Tortoise and the Hare is the perfect book about the importance of hard work and perseverance that children will cherish for many years

I ordered these as graduation gifts for my FPU class which I've been doing for the last 6 or 7 years. I ordered several extra of these as it seems the Tortoise and the Hare comes and goes in print. A few years back I had to order several different used versions and nothing was available new. These were a hit with my recent class and I hope the publisher continues to keep them in stock.

Great book, great story, exactly what I was wanting. This is the exact book Dave Ramsey uses in his Financial Peace University class. I highly recommend this book just for the story but the color and illustration is great as well.
JUST DO IT JUST DO IT
Very small books. I was looking for the larger library version and even though it said it was all of these copies I think are the same.

I ordered this book to read to my Kindergarten students. I began reading the book to them, and I quickly discovered that the book was missing the second half of the pages. The last page in the book I recieved is where the Hare is drinking lemonade, but I know there are several more pages in the book. The kids were very disappointed we couldn’t finish the story.

Love this version of the story and its illustrations. I can still hear Gilda Radnor's voice reading it on Reading Rainbow.
I love this book. I love the story line and the lesson in it. It’s appropriate for any age group. I’m adding it to the reading library and nook I’m building for my son. The images are perfect for reading along with a child.
