Ms. Wilkerson does for the Great Migration what John Steinbeck did for the Okies in his fiction masterpiece, The Grapes of Wrath; she humanizes history, giving it emotional and psychological depth. John Stauffer, Wall Street Journal. A narrative epic rigorous enough to impress all but the crankiest of scholars, yet so immensely readable as to land the author a future place on Oprah’s couch.

My only critisim of the book is that it focuses too much on planning and does not really offer any pratical solutions or ideas in how to deal with what I thought would be quite common issues when technially having to do a data migration. I apperciate that the first golden rule in the book is that "Data migration is a business not a technical issue", but as the person actually having to do the data migration, it would be helpful to have some possible solutions to the mentioned issues which I could discuss with the business. This is why "Planning Data Migration" is probablly a more accurate title for the book.
