Description

Even so, they'll enjoy the exuberant pup's antics, which Nelson captures from a variety of perspectives in colorful, energetic illustrations: the puppy leaps into the air, rolls in mud, bounds out of his bath, and shakes water all over himself, the children, and the cat. The conscientious youngsters chase him, imploring their "baby" to behave.

SUch fun illustrations and a great story for our toddler as she heads into the independent age. I'll be ordering another of these for my biracial twin great-grandchildren.

Got This book for my grandson after he fell in love with " Please Baby Please". He loves it at age 2 and loves the repetitive words that allow him to build confidence and begin reading on his own.

The words are simple and the illustrations are exquisite. The illustrator depicts the scenes with such energy that you feel a part of the action as two beautiful children spend a day with their unruly puppy.

This quickly became my 21-month-old granddaughter's favorite book. She would exclaim, "He's getting out!", when the puppy headed for the loose board in the fence, and, "Oh, no! Mud!", when the puppy takes a mud bath.

It's a short, lovely book, and great for interactive reading with a toddler.

The illustrations alone make this book ideal to anyone. They are so realistic that my kid referred to them as 'photos'. And yet there's warm poetry in them. And the story is very good too. I read it to my adopted child along with 'No MAtter What', because it basically tells the same story, whatever act you put on, I will always be there for you. A reassurance most adopted kids need to hear from time to time.No Matter What

Great book. My 3 year old loves it and since its so easy to remember she "reads" along with me:)
What a great book! Love the illustrations, the kids are just darling. And there are little details throughout the book (a sock here, shoes there) that my 2 year old loves to point out. She has the book memorized and LOVES for us to read it to her. The repetative "please puppy please!" really got her attention. Wonderful book for the very young. Highly recommended!
