Since Robin Hood and his father were peasants they weren't allowed to hunt the king's deer. When they were hunting the sheriff's men caught them. They took Robin Hood's father, and a man chased after Robin Hood. Robin Hood had a knife in his hand. He threw it back at him, and it killed him.

Robin Hood definitely captured the imagination of the English people of that period, because he was a hero working for justice. Robin pleased them and they built around his name one legend after another. They made him a great sportsman, a wonderful archer, a loyal friend, and a lover of the green woods where he lived. 5. Another great read, Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest is a fun and entertaining book. Robin Hood's adventures are thrilling to read and they encompass the true outlaw spirit that naturally comes with Robin Hood. What was also quite nice was that the dialogue was written in old English, with the right amount of 'ye' and 'begone, villain' to re-kindle my interest in the stories and legends of old.
