Package arrived in good condition and on time. I think my faverite part about this book is that it actually looks like it was hand drawn. Not a lot of books out there like this due to photo shop. I have nothing agianst photoshop but it is very unique to books like this.

The second part that I liked about it was how it is focussed on how the charaters are drawn. All 50 cats are very well thought out and it is easy to see how the artist came to the final piece in each sketch.

This teaches you how to sketch cats its not a book with art that is there to look at. The point of drawing is knowing how to go from a sketch to a finished piece of art that actually looks believable. Your not going to learn anything unless you go through the steps and see what your drawing in many shapes not just a pretty blob with hair.

Thew two things I did not like about it is that it would have been nice to see how to shade using hatching and cross hatching. Secone it would be nice to see the artists opinion on possable ways to display facial epression. Then agian I am a cartoon and fantasy artist so this may be just something that does not apply to this book due to the type of art it teaches. Over all five out of five for me.

Very nice book just needs a extra explanation about how to draw the hair, and how the measure the lines of the head and body.

I am trying to refine my ability to render and paint cats. This guide is useful for studying physical characteristics and proper dimensioning of cats' physical head shapes as well as proper application of shading and markings. Very helpful guide to me.

Not much to the book...50 line drawings of cats with very little discussion and no information on rendering fur. Not worth the cost.

Ames books in our elementary school library the kids love them. I took one home to try my hand at drawing a cat and was amazed by the results. The instructions (pictures very little to zero text) are simple enough for the kids to handle. The results are not childish. It's a process that makes the steps clear and depending on your ability the end result will be something an adult can be proud to display.

We had bought the Draw 50 Buildings drawing book from the same series. Wonderful sketching lessons for older children (about 8+, depending on the child's ability to draw...or at worst at about 10+). Beautiful end-products for our mildly artistic child. Half of the cats were drawn within a few days and this continued to be used regularly. I'm very tempted to sneak these books for myself because they're very tempting. Very suitable for adults as well--and for avid cat people.

This is a very good how-to-draw book, but I'd prefer it in print instead of the Kindle edition.
I got this for my daughter who is 9, she follows the instructions and has drawn some amazing cats! She loves this book, so we got several others in this series. She loves them all.
