Great story for children. My seven year old and five year old grandsons enjoyed this story very much. This would be great for older children.

My granddaughter is collecting the whole series of the twin books. She loves to read the stories and see how people lived in the particular country and the era.

I am so glad to see that the twins books have not completely disappeared, despite the concerted efforts of misguided educational "experts" in the '60s and '70s. "The Dutch Twins" was the first book I read by myself and from there I used to stand in our town library in front of the long row of other twins books trying to decide which to read next. When my own children were early grade schoolers and we lived overseas, I took with us as many books as I could afford and the twins books went along. My only sorrow is that the books now are so very expensive--beyond my limited means (for my great-grandchildren) and certainly beyond those of most young families. But at least they are there still and I hope they continue to be. I still remember what I learned about children in other lands--long after I've forgotten most other learning (except the multiplication tables!)and can tell you about a lot of twins and their adventures. Boo to the experts!
