I thought this was actually information on the early fathers...it turned out to be a bibliography with index of the large multibook set. Not worth buying unless you have large book collection.

I have found these texts a wonderful addition to my library. There is so much information here for the individual interested in Christianity, its affordability, and breadth of information all help me to rate this five stars. I recommend this collection to anyone with the slightest interest in Christianity. You can sense the growth of the early church, the expanding theology and understanding of those Christians who followed so soon after Christ's resurrection. I find the translation easy to read and I keep at least one volume nearby so that I can read a few pages at a time daily.

Honestly, I'm just excited to have this in my book collection I can easily overlook many of the clerical errors or small type-font. Any reader of undergraduate to graduate/professional can pick up these books and just pour over them for hours! Enjoy!

I bought this some time ago and just started reading volume one cover to cover after occasionally consulting the individual writers. It nicely collects many writings of the Early Fathers, but the introductions to each piece are biased to the views of the editors and compiler. This really isn't unique, but it can affect the way a person reads and absorbs things.

As to the Fathers themselves, I'm currently in the middle of Justin Martyr's Dialogue with Trypho. You can sense Justin's debate style in the way he speaks. It's pretty hardcore. This is a valuable resource to those who care about history and an extra biblical witness to the way early Christians thought and believed, as well as their battles against heresy.

Used these in seminary and glad I was finally able to afford my own copy. These are a must have for any one interested in Christian Theology of the Church Fathers.

Just as described & arrived promptly.
Excellent! It gives invaluable insight into the Scriptures, and specially the Kingdom of God.- which was the emphasis of Jesus Christ's preaching.
