This book is truly a dye workshop with Ellen, in book form. I found Ellen's workbook very useful. With her whimsical sense of humour she makes colour theory less intimidating. The amount of information she has given us in this book is more than worth it's price. This is now my go to book for how to dye fabric. 17 people found this helpful.

The author of "Thread Magic" offers a short course on color theory and sponge dyeing, complete with sources, how tos, and dye charts. Her fabrics are legendary for having light sources, sunsets, ponds, lakes, forests, and swamps, all within the dyeing.
