I am not a rookie in the remodeling/construction department, however I was searching for ways to eliminate home-building cost. I had a bad experience with a contractor when I had an addition built to my home, after I fired him, I became my own contractor and saved alot of money. Building an addition is different from building a complete house, this book was great, it contains great information besides the already known. I really despise buying a book that tells me what I already knew.

Very informative! A great study tool for learning some of the basics of the trade. In layman's terms, and even explains traade slang. I love it. It also came with disc but I haven't popped it in yet. If your going to do some projects and hire some contractors, this will help you communicate with them, and you should be able to understand them better as well.
