Wat!? Wat!?
Some new characters bring about even more changes in this section of the ashes series. The description of events as they unfolded brought the pages to life! Some things these warrior's are dealing with could be going on today, or in the not to distant future! Either way it is a good read and kept me going from start to finish. I read it in just 3 days! Now I need to order more books! Mr. Johnstone's writing style is very fluid and I never stopped and asked myself, hey what did I just read?!! Refreshing, edge of your seat stuff!

Out of all the books I have read from William Johnstone and J.J. this is the worst one that he wrote. I have read these ashes two different times and this is the third time, just Don't know if I want to waist my money on no more. Should give it no stars but I did like Harley and the Reno guys. Very disappointed in this not like any others that William wrote almost l I kept a kid wrote some of it.

Another great read in the Ashes series by a well written, knowledgeable author. Even though several genres written about, the main story line does not suffer. Even though I read this book out of sequence in the Ashes series, I was still able to follow the story line. Suggest however, that other readers may want to start with book one in the series.....

After reading this book, I feel that it was not written by Johnstone. I feel the writer was obtuse and lacking. This is also with about the last 12 books or so. There was research done, however, it appears that it was not researched enough. I felt maistakes were made in the area of weapons, locations, and attitudes of people at some locations mentioned. Also the price of the books and not being able to find some of the books. Think goodness for Kindel, Nook, etc. Johnstone is a very good writer, has his own style, which is good, but a Louis Lamour he's not. Needs to do a little more research about people, and those that WILL defend their country and family. There's more than what he's thanks, and more detest what our government has become.

Author gets his armament mixed up occasionally, I don't think there is such a gun as a 20mm mini-gun, there are many forms of a 20mm gun, but the projectile is about the size of your thumb, hardly a mini-gun.
Steel balls Steel balls
He just reissues entire passages from older books as flashbacks to fill up this piece of junk. Terrible writing. Flat characters. Invincible heroes.

Lame. Perhaps 15% new content that drags on and on. The same old crap using huge chunks of direct text from previous books in this series. If feels like about 100 pages of new and margionally interesting and 500 of cut and paste from the other books... Sad.
Good read -fewer errors as the series progresses
Descriptions of battles and the battle field is nothing but great — I cannot put any of the books down!!
