It's Edgar Allan Poe people. HAHA..sorry. I have all of his work and it is nice that i know have it on my Kindle. No matter how many times I read it...it's like i'm reading it for the first time all over again. I guess only true lovers of books or Poe will understand that. I received this book free on my Kindle, but i have always been willing to pay for Poe. It was nice to see that i could get his work for free. I have no idea what else i can add to this review except...If you have never read Poe...by all means DO IT NOW!!!

To visit the poems of Poe is to return to the are when the culture was obsessed with the occult, the other-worldly or the emotive. This i not great poetry although there are several examples of very good poems. What is striking is the hints of the slow evolution in poetry where to musical sound of the worlds as opposed to the meter of the poems is most important. It would take another generation before this was perfected by the imagists. "The Bells" "The Raven" among others harken back to a time when poetry was alive and more importantly read by more than a minimal group of academic or other poets.

Poe is by far my favorite poet. I loved reading his poems and other writings when I was in school. This collection was very extensive and I got to read a lot of poems if never heard of before.

My favorite will always be The Raven. There is just something about it that makes me love it with every additional read. There is just something about Poe's works that tug at you in a way that is hard to sum up into words. His poems are beautiful and some morbid. But that just makes them more beautiful.

Poe truly was a misunderstood poet in his time and he is greatly loved by many now.

I highly recommend this collection. There are notes that proceed each section to. Plus plays and essays to. It's a lens and great collection especially if you love Poe.

If you are an avid reader of Poe, you are very different than me. My favorite poems and books on my (real) bookcase do not bear his name. However, when I read all of the awful reviews for THIS version for the Kindle, I decided to finally download a book of his. Besides, I do like some of his work - I just despise dark, twisted poetry that's only purpose is to terrify. Anyway, I have discovered every issue relating to THIS version to be either fixed or to be very minimal(typos, for instance, are rare, and far between, but not non-existent). There is a table of contents, with links to each poem. There is even a link back to the table at the end of the poem! This is nice, because if you are looking for a poem and you only know a couple words, if you find a similar poem that you think is it, then find out it's not, it is really easy to get back to the Table of Contents. So, five stars because, though Poe is not my favorite, the book is well done for being free. And I believe that good, well formatted e-books ARE hard to come by, and should be encouraged when found. If only this was Kilmer and not Poe!

I like Edgar Allan Poe, I took two semesters in collage on Poe's writings. This is a Love-Hate relationship, especially if you are not a poetry that is boring to you. Who cannot read The Raven? I love this and all his poetry, there are parts that it was told by someone else, now the was difficult to struggle through some of narration but at the same time it was very interesting. If you have never read Edgar Allan Poe's poetry before this would an eye opener for you

I got this book to use during the Halloween period for activities in a long term care facility. We had a great time reading some of the poems and talking about them. Will use again. Great book for anyone looking for activity especially with seniors

It was a good read although the ending didn't really make much sense in my opinion. Also much is lost in translation and I recommend learning it with someone. All in all a great book of classics
When I saw that I could get the entire poetic works of one of my favorite authors for free, I couldn't help myself. I love Poe as a writer, so this was straight up my alley. There were many poems that I had read, but most of them I hadn't. I still haven't read them all, but I don't think it will never be deleted or not appreciated in my Kindle. I can always go back to reading them. They're an essential for any Poe fan.
