Stella Cameron was born and raised on the southern coast of England where she met her American husband at a party in London. After their marriage, she left England and went with husband Jerry to Washington State to make a home and raise a family. Like many authors, Stella began her literary career as a reader. As a child and a young adult, books saved her because they helped free her while they entertained her. Her love of reading always went side-by-side with her love of writing.

Stella cameron series: Court of Angels. Although he has always kept his past carefully hidden, as the ever-reliable manager of her well-stocked pub, The Black Dog, Hugh Rhys has Alex Duggins' total trust. However the unexpected arrival of two women from his past raises the fury of the usually even-tempered Hugh, threatens his carefully-crafted reputation and sends shockwaves through the village. Lady Justine Girvin, the Duke of Franchot's elegant spinster sister, decided to grab one last chance for happiness-by doing something incredibly scandalous.

Such times, Angels makes clear, are crucibles in which moral and mortal worth are tested. You’re reminded that, among many other things, Angels in America is a comedy, but in the biggest, most generous sense of the word. God may no longer be around to judge those of bad faith, but Mr. Kushner definitely is. More than any Angels I’ve encountered, Ms. Elliott’s version illuminates the symmetry amid the play’s diverse relationships. I mean as in the Human Comedy and the Divine Comedy, which in Mr. Kushner’s swirling, mixed-up universe are gloriously one and the same.

EASY READ but the characters are dated! Well written, charming setting, enchanting Christmas ghost story, likable main characters and ghosts, and intriguing story idea. HOWEVER, the plot is overly contrived and the behavior ranges from foolish to unbelievable. In addition, the supporting cast is a mess, too many unlikable, selfish, back-stabbing relatives and friends.

THE STORY revolves around Hannah Bradshaw and Roman Hunter, together for seven chaste years and planning to be married, when a women shows up and tells Hannah that Roman is the father of her unborn child. Hannah runs off before he can explain and when Roman doesn't find Hannah, he marries the woman three months later, so the little baby will have a father.

AS THE BOOK OPENS, just dumped and unemployed, Hannah receives a mystical SEVEN-year old undelivered letter from Roman, telling her it was all lies and he loves only her. Hannah wants to see him one last time, so she returns to her childhood hometown and they rekindle their relationship with a little magical help from Christmas angels.

THE MAIN CHARACTERS just don't work. Hannah and Roman were planning a life together, and she accepts the lies of some woman she barely knows, without his explanation? When Roman doesn't find Hannah, the love-of-his-life, he marries a lying, manipulative pregnant woman he barely knows. PLEASE. NOBODY is that gullible or misguided.

You may also enjoy the complex characters and storytelling of N. Bruhns, A. Stuart, L. L. Miller, E. Palfrey, R. C. Ryan, or L. Wilde (worst endings ever). For sweet, funny, romances with great descriptive imagery and heart touching angst, try S. Fox, C. Colter, and E. Palfrey.

This is a very cute and enjoyable book! Both the hero and heroine are extremely likeable, you can just feel the strength of their love. All the secondary characters just add to the story, and there's even a little holiday magic thrown in!

Perfect to cozy up with on a cold, wintry day! :)

I just looked at the copyright and saw it was written in 1991, I never would have guessed it! A timeless story with some cute humor added to it.

It's a miracle these two protagonists were able to get together at all, with all the controlling and interfering people they encountered, and all the lies they'd been told. At times, I frustratedly wanted to shake some sense in them, and have them sit down for an honest talk! Anyway, I loved the setting, the charming peanut-farming town, Jane's Christmas shop, and the ghostly presence that steered everything in the right direction

THIS BOOK HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ IN MY LIFE. I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!! IT WAS HEARTWARMING AND EXCITING, BOTH THE STORYLINE AND ROMANCE SEENS. I ACTUALLY WANTED TO BE IN THE BOOK WITH ROMAN AND HANNAH, TO ACTUALLY LIVE IN THE TOWN OF CLARKSVILLE, AND HAVE A LOVE AS STRONG AS THEY DO! HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE. I WILL BE WATCHING FOR MORE CHRISTMAS BOOKS FROM STELLA CAMERON.
