I LOVE this series. I am so glad that the writer has continued to keep republishing them in Kindle form. Howie is utterly intriguing, and the mystery is always good too. The setting is excellent, all the characters are interesting. And it was cool to hear from Jack's wife on this one. It gives you another perspective. I find Howie intelligent, deep, intriguing, sexy, introspective, hapless and has some really funny thoughts and comments on life and the universe. I don't know how many times I have laughed out loud at some of his keen observations. This is a must read series for me and I got a friend hooked on it too. Brilliant!

If this first book of the series is what you are advertising as"if you like Hillerman you will will like this" ... you had better reread the book. It was not as well written or readable as expected. As a Hillerman fan I am very sorry I purchased the 4 volume set; if I had purchased only the first book I would not have bought the other three.

How could you expect a blind detective to manage but he does with the help and assistance of Howard Moon Deer, an Indian who is way out of his element at times. I love this story line and series, too. I hope Mr. Westbrook continues this series. This has been one of the most interesting and readable books that I have encountered in recent times. I have enjoyed it thoroughly. Howard Moon Deer is a keeper.

It's a great story and very well written, good suspense too. The details for how the mystery wraps up is a bit long-winded at the end; there's some things that readers can figure out on their own.

Westbrook brings you along on a great ride thru the twists and turns of San Geronimo and it's crazy art culture and local characters. Jack and Howard do their best to stay involved in the mystery and intrigue that evolves throughout this event filled saga.

Originally ordered the book to read on our flight to Missoula, Montana, but just couldn't wait to start reading it....read it before we even left for vacation. Wonderful mystery.
An interesting twist to bring in such a well-known artist of the Southwest as Georgia O'Keefe. A lot of fun to read and enjoy the different rabbit holes Robert Westbrook sends you down.
