I do not affirm that I have conquered fear, but only that in self-defence I have been obliged to do something in that direction. I take it for granted that what goes in that direction will go all the way if pursued with perseverance and good will. Having thus made some simple experiments-chiefly mental-with what to me are effective results, I can hardly refuse to tell what they have been when others are so good as to ask me.

The Conquest of Fear - Basil King. Yes, he went on, I got a great deal out of your recent book, but the book which helped me more than any I have ever read is a book called The Conquest of Fear, by Basil King. Do you happen to know it? Know it!

The Conquest of Fear - Basil King. There are many books which give some help to many people. There are books which give a set of rules, or even one master rule, by which to meet the problems of life. This is not such a book. Instead, it presents, what all too few of us to-day possess, a philosophy of life. Do you happen to know it? Know it!

For me, I have read many books about how to get rid od/deal with fear. This one is my favorite. Yes, it was written about 100 years ago, yet when I read it I was amazed at it is still just as meaningful today.

What I like the best about this book is how smoothlyrics each section goes from one section to the other and how there are Bible scriptures added.

This book is inspiring, it inspired me very much. I highly recommend this book.

The font (text size) used in this zeroxed book is so tiny, its nearly impossible to read. It is very likely an 8point font, with so much white space around the text, it gives eyestrain trying to read it. I suggest making it an ebook so normal people can adjust the font to read it. If you are not 15-20years old, you're going to find this incredibly difficult to read. Move on...

Excellent book. It teaches us to trust God. I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone living in fear to one degree or another.

I found this in searching for titles on "fear" in hopes of overcoming some phobias. The one thing from the book that seems to stay with me is the author's comment about fear not being able to exist absent imagination. Put another way, if you aren't imagining the worse, odds are you are not fearful. I cleaned a second story gutter for the first time imagining a successful outcome where in years past I would dwell on being rendered paralyzed from the neck down while I was on the ladder. The gutter remained clogged for several seasons because of this unreasonable fear.

It is always disappointing when someone reaches the profound, then tries to find a framework, and ends up interpreting the bible and all that it meant. Would someone reach the inner light, and simply leave it wholly and happily within, it would more than suffice to inspire and teach a better way. But no.
So it is with Conquest of Fear.
What begins to inspire, by simply realizing for self the ongoing and triumphant Essence of life, which cannot be stopped, has never been stopped, is ongoing despite forms coming and going; always modifying; always creating anew; and that realization filling one's consciousness with such fervor as to be one with it, that blindness was diverted....without the 'God' of religion, but a personal strength and empowerment due to the unseen - eventually turns in to a giving away of all value to some 'God-in-heaven', greater than thee.
Bummer. Back to separation. The small little self, seeking to appease.
The beginning is good though. Just read TIL your excited, then close the book and go away happy.
