Quilters is a musical with a book by Molly Newman and Barbara Damashek, and lyrics and music by Barbara Damashek. It is about the lives of American pioneer women based on the book The Quilters:Women and Domestic Art by Patricia Cooper and Norma Bradley Allen. The show was originally developed and produced by the Denver Center Theater Company, Brockman Seawell, executive producer. It had a brief run on Broadway in 1984.

What started as a single monologue blossomed into an entire evening of theatre. Laughing Wild is a brilliantly written, and touching views on the realities of lonely people struggling to find themselves, and even love in a fast paced, brutal world. Calling Laughing Wild a comedy truly downplays the value of it to its audience.

A magnificent realistic musical. We saw it onstage many times, and it always Worked Perfectly. PLEASE someone put this on Blu-ray, or at least the music and singing on CD !

Our local community theatre's play reading committee read it and we thought it was very different. It is an all female cast (7). It's a family's story all told thru the women's quilts from birth to death. We hope to perform it in the future. This is a musical.

16 years ago I played Sarah McKendree Bonham. What a great show! We attempted to make a recording but that effort fell apart. Does anyone know of a recording?

I am trying to talk a director into mounting another production and would love to be able to demonstrate the music.

this play has a good female monologue in it about a woman who just lost her beloved husband. It is a great audition piece for women of any age, as long as you are ambitious.
