Required for high school daughter's English class. Initially she sounded exactly like every negative review here. Once she started reading, her perspective changed and she could not stop laughing while sharing many outrageous passages with us. She loves the author's wit and made me (mom) promise I'd read the book.

I purchased this book because it was the book that inspired the movie - Roxanne - starring Steve Martin, Daryl Hannah, Shelly Duvall, Rick Rossovich. The movie is one of my favorites and the book did not disappoint me. Also the book was delivered before expected and was in great condition.
