It’s a keeper.” —Phoebe Jordan, Talk About My Favorite Authors “If you enjoy passion and emotion in your romance, Land of Falling Stars is one you won’t want to miss! —Jennifer’s Random Musings (4.5 stars) “A story that has the ups and downs of a roller coaster and keeps the reader hanging on with bated breath, Land of Falling Stars is captivating. The author has a great knack for weaving words together to bring a vivid picture to the reader’s mind.” —Bookwenches (4.5 stars) Penniless, her parents and brother dead, Sophia Whitfield struggles to save her beloved childhood home during the Civil War. I truly enjoy reading a book that is exactly what it is classified to be, and “Land of Falling Stars” by Keta Diablo is most definitely erotic suspense from beginning to end!

I love Civil War Era books and Keta has the details of the division between families and friends during this war spot on. The disaster that was the South during and after the war is very accurately portrayed! The desolation and desperation of the whites and their fear of the Yankees is extremely palpable!

Gavin has lived with unrequited love since he was thirteen years old and Sophia has had unrecognized lustful feelings for Gavin, from long before she knew what lust was! They grew up together, along with Sophia’s betrothed, Jesse, roaming their plantations, Gavin always playing the part of Sophia’s “rescuer”.

The “War of Northern Aggression” takes its toll on Sophia, Jesse, and Gavin. Innocence is lost in so many ways, but Sophia still believes that all will be well, Jesse and Gavin will return home and her beloved home, Arbor Rose, will be restored to its previous glory. You have to read “Land of Falling Stars” by Keta Diablo to find out if Sophia’s dreams come true, or does her future hold something different, better!

Keta writes such incredibly lifelike characters! Her eroticism is second to none and for a girl that reads very little in the erotica realm, I’m totally blown away!

I highly recommend “Land of Falling Stars” by Keta Diablo! I give this book five steaming hot cups of Reviews by Room With Books cups of coffee!

Good Story Premise-Great characters! One of the HOTTEST of book covers too! Nice Man-flesh....grrrrr

When a story makes me wanna smack the heroine...........I call it good writing! When the book has you drooling and breaking out the tissues over the poor Hero...........well, now it's guaranteed my attention overnight even! I loved Gavin from page 1! The man was truly a "dark knight, in shining armor" as well as hopelessly and totally in love with Sophia. You have to hope his persistance will pay off, don't ya?

Tough catgory (I think it's still hard sometimes to talk or think about civil war stories)and Keta does a fine job showing us some of the pain and shock it was -especially for the South to recover from.
The general feel of neighbors growing up as friends and a time when families still subjected their children to "arranged" marriages was conveyed with a lot of emotion-page after page after page. Gavin's "voice" was loud and clear from the start-loving Sophia since he was 13-and knowing she was promissed to his best friend (who was also on the opposite side of the war!)
"Oh what a tangled web we weave........" Which made his decision to not tell her about his role in Jesse's death and Jesse's final letter to Sophia---so totally heart wrenching......even more so after they finally gave in to their feelings and made love. (great love scenes without being trashy!)

She made it easy to hate Mule and Billy. (bad neighbors!) Rocochet's (dog) role as a hero's helper had the poor beast(wolfhound) using up lots of life-forces! And a good thing too or Gavin would have had to dish up "rape" on his already full plate of Sophia troubles!

I enjoyed the read on a rainy afternoon-and look forward to another of Keta's books (I bought 2 of them yesteday)-from what I've read in reviews-she doesn't disappoint.

Why?! Why did it have to end? It was soooo good! Wht a romantic story. Hell, I'm in love with Gavin too. No man has ever been more devoted to a woman. God! This book left me with such a good feeling. I loved it. Gavin is all man....such a passion and desire between these two. I wanted to poke Sophia's eyes out at times but they truly did love each other. Very well done. Recommend highly. 10 stars. This is wht romance is all about!!!!

I just finished reading this book instead of doing the housework. The conflicting characters captured and held me throughout the story and the 'baddies' lurking in the background added suspense.
I would have given this more stars if they were available. Great read.

A good book, read it over a weekend. It became a little dry toward the end but all in all a good book.

I am not normally drawn to read historical romances set in the United States, but I thoroughly enjoyed Keta Diablo's Land of Fallen Stars. Gavin and Sophie's struggle to come to terms with the disasters that have befallen them during the Civil War is gripping and gritty, and is heightened by the intense passion they feel for each other, but that they are bound by circumstances and convention to deny.
loved the way the made this a story where the characters grow from their many faults to becoming in love with each other
