Read my 5-star review of Mothers and Other Liars by Amy
I was hoping it would paste from Goodreads, but anyway, Amy Bourret I WANT MORE!! I loved this book, the characters, the concept, the style of writing. It was delicious!

This book is a bit unrealistic, but it's a great read. The characters are quite real, and one gets caught up in their story. There's enough "meat" in it for a good discussion at our book club.

Beautifully written prose. Writer keeps you in suspense. Sometimes depressing in outlook. Lively discussion in our book club about it.

What began as a book tucked into my vacation carry-on turned into an impossible-to-put-down read. Mothers and Other Liars got off to a steady pace and quickly drew me in. Plot twists, legal maneuvers and very real characters made for a delightful read. I had to know what happened...there was no waiting for a soft ending. Best of all, it was a pleasure through to the end.

What drew me in most was the mother's dilemma - what happens when doing what is right means losing your child? How do you choose between your children? Can things ever turn out all right when you've created a royal mess for yourself and your loved ones? I really enjoyed the way the author pulled the pieces together into a rather unexpected, but satisfying, conclusion. Bourret impresses me as a new author with quite a future.

Very engaging and very touching!
For me, Mothers and Other Liars, was a page turner! I couldn't put the book down. Each chapter continues to take you on an emotional rollercoaster as Ruby fights for her daughter, Lark. As a mother it is not difficult to identify with Ruby and also the other mother of this story, Darla. They have to make decisions no mother should have to make. I highly recommend this book!
