The Fields of Grief - Giles Blunt.

A terrifying psychological thriller in which a spate of suicides could just be the work of a serial killer; featuring homicide detectives Cardinal and Delorme from the award-winning ‘Forty Words for Sorrow’. The Fields of Grief - Giles Blunt. 1. Nothing bad could ever happen on Madonna Road. It curls around the western shore of a small lake just outside Algonquin Bay, Ontario, providing a pine-scented refuge for affluent families with young children, yuppies fond of canoes and kayaks, and an artful population of chipmunks chased by galumphing dogs.

Blunt has turned a conventional whodunit into a fascinating psychological duel between the detective and the murderer’ Sunday Telegraph. An emotionally involving and intellectually challenging journey from night into day. A fine and moving novel about bereavement’ Reginald Hill. Praise for Giles Blunt

The Fields of Grief book. This is the fourth book in Giles Blunt's John Cardinal and Lise Delorme series.

The Fields of Grief book. So far none of the subsequent books have topped the first one, Forty Words for Sorrow, but that doesn't mean that I haven't enjoyed them. I would recommend them for the fine writing alone!

You know I don’t like to talk about stuff ahead of time.

You know I don’t like to talk about stuff ahead of time. She stood up and slung the camera bag, bulky and heavy, over her shoulder. What a gorgeous night,’ Cardinal said when they were outside. It was Catherine’s favourite time of year too, but she wasn’t paying attention at the moment. She got straight into her car, a maroon PT Cruiser she’d bought used a couple of years earlier, started the engine, and pulled out of the drive.

Giles Blunt writes with uncommon grace, style and compassion and he plots like a demon. It's easy to get started - we will give you example code. an impressive achievement.

When it comes the subtle revelation, The Fields of Grief is downright chilling. No spoiler from me but this book is shocking, full of suspense, and doesn't disappoint.

Giles Blunt is one of the best authors I have ever read. He brings Ontario, Canada to life, and his main hero is also very complex. Lise Delorme, a French Canadian, is also a great sidekick to the hero.

Another of the great Inspector Cardinal series. Just love all his books and of course this one was a very important one in his "life". Excellent writer, great cahracters, and always a winding path to the truth.
