This novel is a great find. Although written in the early nineties it does not seem outdated. It is a well thought out novel with a storyline nicely done which I found suspenseful. The setting is The Yankee Green an enormous shopping center and indoor amusement park located in a suburb of Boston. Tight entertaining plot with colourful characters. Forget the bad reviews and give it a shot you want be disappointed.

Don't waste your money. In fact, don't waste your time reading the rest of this review. The book's not worth it.
The plot is so thinly strung across the books' 350+ pages that you keep forgetting what it's about.
There are so many characters introduced that have nothing to do with the plot that I had to keep reminding myself that the book was not supposed to be about tight bodies and the incredibly boring details of how a shopping mall is run.
The formula: a collection of high school dating cliches, a look at mall life through the eyes of a security guard (the big news here is that they get sore feet) and a lecture about how union laborers are lazy and how security guards are smarter than "real" cops.
Oops, I forgot to mention: someone wants to blow up the mall. I guess it's because this fact gets lost in pages about thawing fish and changing your dress three times for a date.
The only mystery here is why this was published.

My books arrived quicker than I thought they would. Great service as usual. Books were in good shape. Can't wait to read it.

Please don't judge Pearsons' writing by this plodding book - his Lou Boldt series is fantastic! I have read 21 of his books and loved all but one - this one. It is so s-l-o-w and we know every thought and action of every person involved it is like reading War and Peace. I couldn't finish it, I was simply bored out of my mind; life is too short and there are too many more books out there begging to be opened. Perhaps eventually I would have reached the story and liked it but I didn't need to know every moment of every character's life.

Terrorism was my problem with this book. I am a fan of Ridley Pearson but did not like the incident of terror at a mall.
All of his books are real page turners and this one is no exception. I have now read every book he has written and they have all held my attention....sometimes into the the wee morning hours!!! I highly recommend him to anyone who enjoys a good mystery or who-done-it that keeps you guessing to the last page.
