Lawyer Bernhardt ( Primary Justice ) leavens this workmanlike drama with a variety of interesting characters . I love this whole series starring Ben Kincaid as an attorney navigating through life and succeeding in spite of his humbleness. Bernhardt is a fabulous writer.

Lawyer Bernhardt ( Primary Justice ) leavens this workmanlike drama with a variety of interesting Ben's pawnbroker neighbor who sends him dead gophers in the mail-but can't seem to get the mix of drama and humor quite right. We're convinced of Christina's innocence from the start, and that significantly reduces the tension. He’s funny, ironic, and spot on with his characters, the same way Ed McBain was in his 87th Precinct novels.

A wonderful beginning to this enduring saga, Primary Justice introduces us to young Kincaid, an idealistic, innocent young man just beginning his professional life. Throughout the intricate, fantastic plot he gradually learns hard lessons about the realities of modern law practice. The plot is intricate, the characters endearing and the end shocking. Who could ask for more?

This is the first book I read from W. Bernhardt. I purchased the kindle edition and the second in the series paperback. I found the book with plenty of action and everything was answered in the last pages of the story. He put the story together in a coherent and interesting way. I'm looking forward to reading the second book. He's using some interesting characters. I hope I fall in love with the series. It's nice to have another author to enjoy.

Ben Kincaid joins a prestigious law firm. As a new associate, he is given a boring case to handle, in order to allow more experienced associates to handle more complicated, career-enhancing cases.

Ben's initial case, an adoption hearing becomes a mystery, and evolves into a mystery that includes murders, embezzlement and surprises.

This ois an excellent novel that will excite all readers

This book is a page turner with lots of twists and turns. I REALLY ENJOYED IT because not only were the characters likeable and believable, they were also humorous & eccentric. I had a hard time putting it down to get my chores done, because I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I think I've found a new author for my favorite list!

Ben Kincaid, new lawyer,is dedicated to truth and justice. Although he appears to be one of a very few who is. He begins his new job with a prestigious law firm in Tulsa only to find himself stepping over dead bodies and in court with cases his firm doesn't seem to care if he he wins. Many twists and turns lead a surprising conclusion. Well worth the ride. I think I'll read the rest of the series.

I've been a fan of the Ben Kincaid books for years, and was excited to see many of them for $1.99 on the Cyber Monday deals. I'm just over three-quarters of the way through Primary Justice, and the editorial errors so far have been extremely distracting. For example, one sentence says, "Her features seemed pleasant enough from Ben's distance, but her racial expression was pensive." I know that it should be "facial expression," not "racial expression." That is just one of many editorial errors in this edition. This edition should never have been released with errors such as these. I see that the price is back to $7.69 now. Readers deserve better editing, especially when the price for the Kindle copy is the same as a paperback, which probably does not contain these errors. The book itself is 4.5 stars for me, but the bad editing is what caused me to only rate it 3 stars.
