Peter Goodchild is the author of The Spark in the Stone and Raven Tales and is a lifelong student of Native American skills and culture. He lives in Toronto, Canada. This is a very thorough, extensive book, covering nearly all aspects of Native American Living and Skills, I have yet to come across another book that is filled with such PRACTICAL information relating to wilderness survival skills as practiced by the Indian tribes of North America. I find that the author goes as in-depth as possible to explain how to apply the skills practically and efficiently, and easily.

The best children’s books have a way of altering the universe around them. Some would argue that this novelised form of the play Peter Pan is not a children’s book, being instead complicit with an ironic, adult viewpoint. Everyone can remember their first encounter with Narnia, and then trying to get through the back of the wardrobe afterwards into the enticing other world. Lewis’ stroke of genius, of course, was making the animals talk; the knightly adventures of the children are gripping. However, this, and all its variants, are enjoyed immensely by children.
