Contract with Consequences book. Published August 2012 by mills and boon. I usually find Miranda Lee's books enjoyable, and this one is certainly that but it doesn't quite have the sparkle that her other books have. He can give her everything she’s ever wante. ast year. Contract with Consequences. The plot is relatively simple, and I'm all for non-bogged down romances, but this just came across as a little lacking, The heroine feels a little immature, not at all like her 34 years.

Although this is a typical storyline and I've read several of them, this one wasn't as believable as it could have been. The inner thoughts and feelings of the main characters didn't come across to me. The hero, John, jumps right in with the plan to help Scarlet have a baby and you don't get a sense of emotion or purpose from him other than the end goal to have the baby-no emotional attachment to Scarlet or the creation of the baby, no long term plans or hopes. It was very clinical on his part and I couldn't see why he would do this for any reason, even from his explanation that he had always been attracted to Scarlet. I can understand a need, desire to have a child or that your biological clock is ticking or that profound emotion to have a child, but that didn't come through on Scarlet's part either. I guess I'm saying, it was more of a synopsis of what the story was, than actually a novel that I could lose myself in.

I liked the premise and decided to give this story a try despite the reviews. There was no real chemistry between the H and h. It was pretty awful. If you could get past the fact that the H gave no real thought to having a child- which I really couldn't- he was absolutely a jerk to the h. He was driven by wanting to sleep with the h and that was pretty much it. He tried to be controlling with the sex and she never went for it which just made the scenes awkward and gave me a bad feeling. I don't know why they were together or why they would want to be married.

Plodding and boring. Unbelievable and hackneyed. Thirty something heroine wants baby. Childhood friend offers to help her. One abusive father, widowed mother, mysterious wealth, deceased South American housekeeper and lots of descriptions of interior decorating. Disappointing.

This is a story that we can see happen in todays times. Women these days wait longer for the right time to have a baby with the right man. But maybe his sitting right beside him.

I'm glad that I read this book. Scarlet wanted a baby that she was willing just to marry to get one. When her wedding didn't happen, she had to find another way to have her baby so she decided to visit a sperm bank. When she shares this with her neighbor on one of his fly by visits, he makes her an offer for her to use him.

I like that they were friends and that he offered himself to her. She didn't have to beg him to do what she wanted. I did want a little more between them but with the book's length, it worked out.

Contract with Consequences is the 22nd romance novel by Australian author, Miranda Lee. At 34, Scarlet King’s biological clock is ticking loudly, and, with a failed engagement behind her and no Mr Wonderful in sight, the fertility clinic seemed to be the answer. Except she still wasn’t pregnant. Enter John Mitchell, that annoying kid down the road, now all grown up and wow! John informs her he’s not the marrying kind, but is willing to help her fall pregnant, in the traditional manner, of course. In this boy-next-door-with-a-difference romance, Lee gives the reader appealing characters, credible dialogue, commentary on Terrigal traffic disruption, a Darwin travelogue, some hot sex scenes and, of course, a happy ending. Sweet.

Run of the mill, an okay read but boring like the author has run out of new material. Wont buy again
