Come on in. The water’s fine. I could hate you for this, Sloan growled. I’ve been hated by better men than you, Joy informed him cheerfully. She didn’t doubt Sloan; her job was to channel some. of his angry intensity into the exercises. Clara had told her how much Sloan had loved the pool, swimming laps early every morning. He would again if she had anything to do with it. Put him in the water, Paul. She turned and dove into the blue depths, feeling slightly guilty that Paul was left to deal with the abusive end of Sloan’s temper

I love this story. Communication & trust is the two main keys to any good marriage, especially when a marriage is being tested like this one was. I am so happy that Cal & Jane were able to work through all of the ups and downs, and finally realize the most important thing in their lives was their love and their family.

I do wish that we would have been given a short epilogue at the end, though, because I wanted to see if the all of townspeople finally wised up and ran that little coniving, trollop out of town.

This story has a cautionary tale. A marriage that seemed to be great...Until someone from his past wants him. What happens next to the marriage was a wake up call for him.

A wonderful story of love in Promise, Texas!!!
I'm sad that this is the end of the series, but it's never really the end because I can go back to the beginning and start the adventures all over anytime. Thank You, Debbie Macomber for bringing us the people of Promise, Texas!!!

Read this book when Debbie first wrote it and I enjoyed it just as much the second time. Hope you will also enjoy it. It is a reminder that all things are not always the way we see them. Do not always believe the things people say and look beyond to see other points as to what happened. Believe in your heart and don't forget LOVE power...

This story shows the depth of love for family and that it takes a great deal of give and take to make a marriage work. Will recommend to family and friends.

Debbie Macomber is one of my favorite authors. Real people, problems and solutions. Believable characters, dialogue and story line. This romance has a few twists in it. Jane and Cal are happily married with two small children. Her father has a medical emergency that requires Jane and the children to stay with her parents. Along with the stress of being away from Cal and her father's health, her mom is running a guilt trip on her to stay. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, a young lady who has always imagined herself in love with Cal is doing what she can to undermine their marriage.

I will re-read this book and look forward to more from this author.
I really enjoyed this whole series. There were 8 books but I still wanted more. Return to Promise focused on Cal andf Jane and how they dealt with trauma and perceived problems in their marriage. But without all the other families that I had come to know it wouldn't have been nearly as good. Debbie Macomber knows knows how to build relationships and create families. With help from their friends Cal and Jane learned more about themselves and what was important. I recommend the whole series and to start with book 1. It was great to start from the beginning and meet all the people develop and watch Promise Texas grow!
