In the Deadly Series Ms. Alexa Grace is amazing, edge of your seat thrilling. When it involves young girls that are getting killed it's just awful. They go to the Adoption Agency so there babies have a good life. The Fountain Homes Adoption will pay everything they thing it's perfect, until they change there mind. When one ends up dead Detective Hansen is on the case. When telling her family that she is dead, they are so cold just don't care whatsoever.. So he vows to bring the man down for her.

Frankie Douglas hasn't seen Lane Hansen for 6 months after he split. She is still upset..They see each other at there best friends wedding. It's so hard to forget what happened between them.

Lane suggests to the Sheriff that he bring in someone to go undercover to help with the case. He suggests Frankie Douglas, PI. When Sheriff Tim Brennan calls Frankie, Lane has a shock of horror on his face. The killing starts escalating and they need to stop him before he strikes again. Can't they stop the killings? Bring down this sick monster? Will they keep there attraction at bay or act on it? They're supposed to keep it strictly professional.

You don't want to miss this series. The first one is Deadly Offerings when Michael Brandt meets Anne.

One of my favorite lines:
"God bless the female deputy or detective who has to set up house with you. May she have nerves of steel and the patience of a saint."

I feel deceived. The first book of this series, "Deadly Offering" was a free download, and was very good. It was a great story, with good characterizations and just enough detail to keep the story interesting. I was very excited to purchase and read the second installment "Deadly Deceptions". This book was nothing like it's predecessor. "Deceptive" is an apt description.

This is the story of Lane and Frankie, a cop and a PI. They have a history from the first book, and six months following their one night stand, they work together to bring down an adoption ring. I must say that I really enjoyed the story line, but there seemed to be too many principal characters. It prevented the story from flowing; instead, the writing was choppy and even cumbersome at times.

To be honest, the writing was almost clinical. Sentences were short and boring. The scene descriptions were non-existent, and a lot of information was summed up in one or two sentences. And the sex scenes? BORING! The story was devoid of any emotion.

The premise was good...the execution of that premise was not. The writing styles between the two books were so different, that I'd almost venture a guess that this book was written by someone else. I felt as if I were reading a ten page term paper written by a high school freshman whose only source of information was Cliff Notes.

In other words, don't waste your time.

Alexa has done it once again with the 2nd book of her Deadly trilogy. ***Spoiler Alert if you haven't read yet*** Lane Hansen never thought he'd be able to get Frankie Douglas to ever forgive him after skipping out on her. After caring for her and looking after her after he accidentally shot her, the finally make love and it scares him stupid. But 6 months later after endless nights of thinking of Frankie, he gets the bright idea of trying to bring her in on a case undercover as posing as husband and wife. Smart thinking he thought when then she finally says yes. And after getting deep into cover they both realize that they want the same thing, love and justice. Then things take a dramatic twist once they realize her niece, Sheriff Brennans daughter is caught up in this murder baby scandal. When they finally get to good ole' Dr's house the sheriff finds his daughter unharmed physically and thankfully helps rescue his undercover agents before they can be killed by the rogue dr's hired gun David Chambers. But with the tenacity and strength of his agents they get out of the situation unscathed. With the perps apprehended and still a job to finish, Frankie spends countless hours awake wondering if the handsome Lane Hansen has done his wonderful disappearing act once again. Then he shows up after with her new schnauzer puppy and an engagement ring on his collar to have a happy ending to what could have been a terrible tragedy. Thank you for reading my review of Deadly Deceptions trilogy by Alexa Grace Upcoming my review for the 3rd book of her series Deadly Relations.
