Dick Brown has done for bonefish what other renowned authors have done for trout and salmon: provided readers with a comprehensive look at the species including the bonefish's life history, angling history, and a thoughtful, knowledgable examination of the best current thinking on prime locations and angling methods. This book is, of course, well-known among devotees of flats fishing. It also deserves a place on the shelf of anyone - scientist or lay person - who simply enjoys reading about fish and their environs. Lots of easy-to-digest charts regarding bonefish diet, feeding habits and so forth, lots of excellent photographs, clear explanations and recommendations regarding gear and fishing styles, and lots and lots and lots of specifics about fly patterns, including color plates and fly-tying recipes.

By all means if you wish to have the best possible chance of making your upcoming bonefish trip a successful one, arm yourself with Fly Fishing for Bonefish. This book will be around for a very long time.

This book covers absolutely everything to do with bonefishing. From (history) the first few fly caught fish to the very latest in gear, techniques, diet, behavior, scientific info, gear and of course, how to catch them and what to do when you hook one.

Great photography is just the cherry on top of a beutifully written book that I cannot put down. Just makes you want to go out and stare at the fly rod.

Good on ya Dick!
Great information, especially on ambushing tactics and stats with feeding behaviour.
Very bad linking of pictures to text, due to oldfashioned buildup of document. This should really be revised. Nowadays you can easily place the info or name of a fly right next to a picture of it, now I have to go back and forth through the book to link picture & description......

Overall I am not disappointed.
