My husband and I found this to be lacking in several mushrooms we were hoping to see and also found the information to be contradictive to several other books as well as our own experience. I'm not sure I'd recommend just because it might put unneccessary fear in a new shroomer. If you buy this book, be sure to know mostly what you are doing before you read it and compare it to others, don't just take all of this as fact. Nice photos and interesting recipes.

I like the photos, the descriptions, the illustrations and the overall feel of the book. Still don't feel safe searching for mushrooms on my own, but I do the tests outlined in the book on mushrooms growing in my yard. It's a fun science experiment!
