The MFA’s collection of prints and drawings is among the richest in the world, containing almost 200,000 works that range from the beginnings of p. Selections from the collection of prints and drawings can be found throughout the Museum, but because works on paper are sensitive to light’s damaging effects, we can show them only for brief periods. Most of the MFA’s works on paper that are not on view may be examined in the Morse Study Room for Prints, Drawings, and Photographs upon request. The Morse Study Room is located on the first floor of the Museum, near the Lower Rotunda, open by appointment Tuesday through Friday, 10 am–Noon and 1:30–4 pm.
