Description

Cross-matching between the serum of a patient and the red blood cells to be transfused is most important for the prevention of hemolytic transfusion reactions in allo-immunized or new-born patients found positive with direct antiglobulin test.

Problem Solving Immunohematology. problems reflect the most recent advances in immunohematology and transfusion medicine.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to taste the pleasure of solving math olympiad problems.

The principle of most immunohematology tests is the antigen–antibody reaction leading to RBC agglutination or hemolysis. If any of these occur, the reaction should be interpreted as positive. Hemolysis is considered the strongest positive reaction that can occur and indicates the presence of a potent, complement-fixing antibody, but it is not commonly seen. The RBC agglutination is most commonly seen as a sign of a positive reaction in transfusion medicine tests. RBC agglutination occurs in two phases.

Can one learn linear algebra solely by solving problems? . The Linear Algebra Problem Book is an ideal text for a course in linear algebra

Can one learn linear algebra solely by solving problems? Paul Halmos thinks so, and you will too once you read this book. The Linear Algebra Problem Book is an ideal text for a course in linear algebra. It takes the student step by step from the basic axioms of a field through the notion of vector spaces, on to advanced concepts such as inner product spaces and normality. All of this occurs by way of a series of 164 problems, each with hints and, at the back of the book, full solutions. This book is a marvelous example of how to teach and learn mathematics by 'doing' mathematics
