M’Cord was born in Charleston, South Carolina, Dec. She was educated in Philadelphia, at the celebrated school of Mr. Charles Picot, during her father’s residence in that city; resided a short time in Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and in 1828, returned to the South, where in May, 1840, she was married to D. J. M’Cord, Es. of Columbia, South Carolina.

Louisa Jane M'Cord (born Price) was born on month day 1849, at birth place, to Richard Price and Lucinda Price (born Urquhart). Richard was born on September 11 1806, in Lower Bedeque, PEI, Canada. Lucinda was born on November 20 1820. Louisa had 12 siblings: William Urquhart Price, Margaret Ann Shaw (born Price) and 10 other siblings. Louisa married Blane M'Cord circa 1870, at age 20.
